_The Last Unicorn_ (Beagle). Do I need to describe this?

_The Forgotten Beasts of Eld_ (McKillip). Her breakthrough book after some modest YA stuff. Some people also call this YA, but they're wrong. Gross simplification of plot: an isolated wizard gets swept into the politics on the flatlands around her ~aerie, and has to choose how to get involved.

_The Face in the Frost_ (Bellairs). His only not-YA book; a couple of small-scale wizards have to cope with a colleague who has gone around the bend. Strange but effective mixture of dark and whimsy.
