[nesfa-reading-group] reading-group info on Meetup.

Hello Everybody;

On the NESFA website:

shows Friday, April 5, 2024 • 7:00pm to 9:30pm 
NESFA Reading Group Book: Millennium by John Varley

On Meetup; the New England Science Fiction group listing does not show this event.

It does show Open Library & Open Clubhouse Night for April 3, 2024 and April 7, 2024.

I think there is no person who satisfies all the below requirements:sdss
Knows the future books scheduled for the Reading Group
Is authorized to add to the NESFA Meetup Page
Knows how to add to the NESFA Meetup Page
Has time to add to the NESFA Meetup Page.

Meetup has been an important way for people to find out about the Reading Group.
It does not need fancy graphics, just the data, title, and author.

I suppose any of the above people can enter data into Meetup; if they know how and have time. I do not think we would need cover photos.

The NESFA events, a portion of which is on on the front page of www.nesfa.org<http://www.nesfa.org>, and the NESFA google calendar both have all Reading group events listed for all books we have chosen.

NESFA meets on the first Friday of each month unless something like a Boskone work session pushes it out of the way.

Copying that info to Meetup is something Louis did for a while and I asked if someone else could pick that up.

I think Rick said I have *access*, but I don't have time in the next few months to play with it. If we continue Louis's pattern, entering each book will require digging up a cover photo image from the web.

The latest Reading Group entry in that NESFA calendar is:

However, I do not see any entries for the NESFA Reading Group for NESFA future events. So, it seems the last step of entering information from the NESFA calendar to Meetup still needs to be done.

Yesterday, we discussed someone sending information on the Reading Group Meetings to Meetup. Meetup  ?Event Organizers? are:
Michael Raznick
Bill Todd
Michael Kerpan

If someone wants to take responsibility for sending announcements of Reading Group meetings to Meetup, they can ask me to send their information (email, name) to those folks and one of those folks should be able to set them up to send announcements to Meetup.
