Here is my review. I enjoyed the book, it was an easy mostly entertaining read. If this book was a painting it would be one of those graphic art ones done in all primary colors. Some of the more interesting plot themes weren't developed like the interplay between the two famous roboticists. I'm giving the book a 6/13 overall though primarily because too much of the book was spent on the DPBS which got really tiresome.
Shelly

On Wed, Jun 5, 2024, 1:38 PM Wesley Brodsky <wesbrodsky@alum.mit.edu> wrote:

Hello Everyone;
I will not be attending Friday, so will leave this review of “The Spare Man”.

Based on my main criterion, the extent to which the novel retained my interest and it was not a chore to have to go to the next chapter, this novel was good.

This was to a large extent a traditional murder mystery; which could occur aboard an ocean ship or a train. I only noticed two occasions where being in a space ship had a important effect on the plot; that the mass aboard the ship was carefully monitors and Coriolis effect changed the trajectory of something thrown

Based on those criteria, I give it a 9/13.
