I have a concert on 13 December, so won't be here if the discussion moves. Have we avoided SMOFcon in years it wasn't being run by Boston fandom? (We certainly didn't move it far in advance last year, when it was run by MCFI; I remember rkov complaining when
you announced the date in a NESFA meeting.)</div>

There's nothing on the Readercon website yet, but 11 July 2025 is likely to be their first full day. I'd say they're "marginally connected to 'us' ", but we have time to discuss this. (I'll know the date for sure in 6-7 days as they'll be selling next year's
memberships sometime next weekend.) It's possible the best date is 3 July, on the principle that it's still the night before a day off for most of us. Or we could just find out how many people travel any distance to see fireworks (which don't start until 9pm
or later) on the 4th. (I don't anymore.)</div>
