Taking Chip's suggestion, here is draft3.

If this elicits no more requests for modification, Liz, please send this out on the NESFA Meetup.

======================================

NESFA sponsors a reading group that usually meets at 7PM on the first Friday of each month. Check the calendar at nesfa.org<http://nesfa.org/> for the dates, times, and book selections for scheduled meetings.

Regular attendees bring a wide range of SF-reading experiences and literary opinions, so the discussion is always lively.

Reading choices are offered by members and voted on.

We meet in a Zoom session. The link is posted on Meetup each month. Come join us!

Recent books discussed:

  * The Spare Man by Mary Robinette Kowal
  * Critical Mass by Daniel Suarez
  *   2054  by Elliot Ackerman

Upcoming books to be discussed:

  * Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki
  * The Forgotten Beasts of Eld by Patricia A. McKillip
  * Titanium Noir by Nick Harkaway

If I understood Liz’s plan, this message is a one shot to all the people signed up to the NESFA meet up. If I misunderstood, I’d like to hear about it.

Each month someone also sends out an announcement of the upcoming meeting, presumably mentioning the book title and author.

I’ll send another draft with your suggestion about the calendar.

The reference to the NESFA calendar should also say that that's where to look to find out what book is being discussed when.

NB: I'm assuming from the discussion that a Meetup notice is ongoing in effect, rather than being like a blog that needs to be updated frequently to avoid looking stale. If the latter, something smaller and more focused ("We're discussing Xxx on Yyy") should go up some weeks before each meeting.

OK, taking your comment and Wesley's into account, here is draft2. Is the list at the end too much? To little?

Thanks David for drafting something to post to meet up promoting the book group. It looks good to me.

One thing that might be nice to mention two or three of the books from last year as representative examples to show the range of things that we read.
