[nesfa-reading-group] Consider moving Reading Group dates to avoid conventions

I do not see the necessity of checking with the eboard.
As far as I know, this group has always been able to change dates, with reasons.
Any of the proposed dates is good with me.
Chip has a conflict with 13 December.

What are the inputs of others?

I suggest Wes talk to the eboard, to see if they have a solid view/agenda for all three of the proposed moves, then we run a quick vote via this mailing list or at the August meeting.

There's nothing on the Readercon website yet, but 11 July 2025 is likely to be their first full day. I'd say they're "marginally connected to 'us' ", but we have time to discuss this. (I'll know the date for sure in 6-7 days as they'll be selling next year's memberships sometime next weekend.) It's possible the best date is 3 July, on the principle that it's still the night before a day off for most of us. Or we could just find out how many people travel any distance to see fireworks (which don't start until 9pm or later) on the 4th. (I don't anymore.)

I brushed off the suggestion that we should move our "First Friday" meetings because they collide with the MCFI relaxacon (on October 4th) and the SMOFcon (on December 6th).

We have always stated that we'd move the date a week if the first Friday had something (even marginally) connected to "us" and the following Friday was unencumbered.

For the next year, I see no other scheduled items, though something may show up later.

So I'd like to suggest that we move the October and December meetings to the 11th and 13th, respectively. (I hope I don't hear anything about "Friday the 13th" from this crowd.)

Also, the first Friday in July 2025 is July 4th. We may want to move that to July 11th. That decision can be made now or some months from now.
