Hi all,
I'd like to suggest that our focus for this group should be Hugo nominated (or winning) novels; authors who may attend Boskone; books published by NESFA Press, and more recent raves. There's a ton of sf/f out there (literally!) to read, and only so much time to read it each month. The best of the best is a good goal to shoot for, IMHO.As we've been alternating between female and male authors, the book for July should be by a female author.
I'd like to suggest reading Game of Thrones by G.R.R. Martin for our long summer book, but Ihave no suggestions at present for the July book. Any other suggestions?
Upcoming titles:
May: Barrayar by L.McMaster BujoldJune: Old Man's War by J. Scalzi

I probably will not be able to attend
the May NESFA book club meeting,
but I wanted to offer several suggestions.

Since I am interested in books
that I have not read,
I have no feeling for how good
or bad the following books
might be.  Also, I have chosen
relatively old books
because I attend two other
science-fiction&fantasy book clubs
whose selections skew strongly
to recent publications.

  Anderson, Poul      -- Tau Zero
  Baxter, Stephen    -- Raft
  Disch, Thomas      -- 334
Farmer, Philip Jose -- Unreasoning Mask
  Forward, Robert    -- Dragon's Egg
  Griffith, Nicola    -- Ammonite
Harrison, M John    -- The Centauri Device
  Holland, Cecelia    -- Floating Worlds
May, Julian        -- The Many-Colored Land
  Russell, Mary      -- The Sparrow
  Shaw, Bob          -- Orbitsville
  Silverberg, Robert  -- Dying Inside
  Stapledon, Olaf    -- Star Maker
Sturgeon, Theodore  -- Venus Plus X
Tucker, Wilson      -- The Year of the Quiet Sun
  Wilhelm, Kate      -- Juniper Time
