For B53, the NESFA Reading Group's book was Conflict of Honors. I interviewed Sharon Lee and Steve Miller for the discussion, then we took audience questions for the authors. Bob Kuhn was there, too.

Gay, that's not what he is talking about.

The Boskone Reading Group is a think invented by Boskone programming. It has nothing to do with the NESFA Reading Group.

A couple years ago, we read a Stross book, got him to show up and talk to us -- and he was not GOH.  Erin and the program gang had their own party.

I'm surprised you ask because you are part of one of these, but not normally the other.

Actually, it's already been announced on the Boskone 54 Facebook page ( and probably elsewhere), The Rithmatist by guest of honor Brandon Sanderson.

Hi folks,
It's time to pick a book for the February Reading Group. This book will be discussed at Boskone 54, with the author. I've put together a 'short list' of possible authors, and will determine our choice based on your responses. Since the author in question will be invited to join us to discuss their book & answer queries, I ask that you do not mention to any of the authors or other program participants at Boskone 54 about our deliberations, or our choice of author and book in advance of the convention.

It is possible that we may have to change from one author to another, due to an author's inability to attend the convention, so I will ask for an alternative choice.

While I am including the names of the authors, I will leave it up to you folks to make novel suggestions (is that a pun? I can never tell). Anyway, here's my 'short list':
Christopher Golden, Jane Yolen, Michael Swanwick, Daniel M. Kimmel, Tamora Pierce.

At the moment, my suggestions are: Baltimore, or the Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire; Shh! It's a Secret: A Novel About Aliens, Hollywood, and the Bartender's Guide.

Feel free to make your own suggestions; my above list is anything but comprehensive.
I will give the group one week to make recommendations. After Wednesday, November 30th, I will make a decision based on your picks.

Any questions? Got milk? Email me back if you like.

Thanks so much!
Mike S.
