[nesfa-reading-group] Book choices for October 2017

Thanks for the suggestion, Tony. At 768 pages, that's a bit too long to read in one month for many of us, but if it is chosen by the group, I'll expect you'll have some excellent observations about the book when you join us to discuss it.
