Hello;

We all hope for Dave’s complete and speedy recovery. In addition to the Reading Group, he has done a tremendous amount of good work for NESFA Press and other NESFA Things.
  
I have volunteered to become leader of the group. I have not yet gotten word from Rick Kovalcik or the NESFA Executive Board about that, but I am ready to begin.
  
It seems to me the duties are;
    
-Start the Zoom Group. I still seem able to start the NESFA Zoom account under zooma at nesfa.org. Does the information under “Join Zoom Meeting” below still lead there?
  
-Keep track of 3 books nominated in a rotation fashion by Group members individually and run periodic elections where the group chooses one from each of the three to determine the books which will be read N months in advance. N=?.
   
-Keep the list of books read and determined to be read on Google up to date. My preferred method of updating a document on Google is to download it, update it on my computer, and upload it to replace the old document. I will try to keep the list of all ideas for books, even if they were not chosen updated also.
  
-Send the information on what books are to be read when to people entering information in Meetup
(Richard and Liz?) and to those maintaining the NESFA Calendar at
calendar at nesfa.org 
Who doing the Calendar now?

-Sending out the information on future meetings to this eMail group.

-Is there anyplace else I should send information to?

-I need to keep this email “list” current. Do I ask Joel Lord to do this? So far, we have receive a request from Julia Sayre.

-What else?

I had taken a short course in html maybe a decade ago and still have the book published in 2011. I have forgotten the suject but could maintain some files if needed, with a little review. I can read the html files with “Sublime Text”.

And Dave, we will be happy to see you in the group.

Sorry about your problems. Pretty shocking for you to hear that a vital piece of your own anatomy isn’t responding like it’s supposed to. I’m sure it will come around and cooperate soon - we hope and expect.

My recovery from heart surgery has not gone exactly as I had hoped. There's nothing measurably wrong, but I'm told that three months (as of a few days ago) is when I can *start* trying to get back to normal, not the end of the recovery process.

My energy, tolerance for stress, and general equanimity have all suffered.

For now, it would help if someone (Wes has volunteered) officially took on the lead role in running the reading group.

I can assist (by playing with calendars and website changes that I can still do easily) and I plan to attend meetings. (I've read the next two books.)

Someone currently in this group should talk to Rick Kovalcik about becoming the leader of the group, with access (or a procedure for updating by sending email to someone) to the mailing list, and website files.
